The Profometer 5+ cover meter is used for locating bars, measuring the concrete cover and the bar diameter. Rapid check of minimum cover, rebar's are displayed and the data stored. Printout of statistical values or in grey shades, statistical summary and data transfer to PC.
With the proven system PROFOMETER 5 reinforcement bars can be detected and the concrete cover can be determined non-destructively. Due to the pulse-induction-technique the system is robust against external disturbances. It facilitates the statistical analysis as well as the presentation of a concrete cover map in a chosen grid-pattern. With the CyberScan function the reinforcement pattern can be made visible.
For 2007 various technical optimizations have been achieved. With the generation PROFOMETER 5+ the application now becomes even more precise, faster and more comfortable.
Display with backlight
Unfavorable lightning conditions may be found for instance in parking decks. Equipped with the optional illumination, from now on the display can be examined much easier even under such adverse conditions. The efficiency is thus enhanced. As the display light may be switched on if required, the battery capacity can be exploited in an optimum fashion (working duration: 30 h with and 45 h).
More precision and comfort provided by the “2-Layerr-Correction”
The PROFOMETER 5+ still provides the proven “Neighbour Bar Correction”. This function corrects the influence of adjacent parallel bars upon the measurement results for both the concrete cover and the bar diameter.
Until now the correction for the influence of the 2nd layer of a reinforcement grid was achieved by choosing a larger equivalent bar diameter. In the PROFOMETER 5+ this correction takes place automatically, if activated. The implemented correction function is based on extensive calibration tests on a broad range of common configurations of reinforcement grids, with bars being fixed by means of wire.
Available in two versions; the Profometer 5 Model S is supplied as the basic cover meter model but is full of features:
- Location of the bars using acoustic and optical means.
- Quick location of bars with shallow cover.
- Store of individual cover values and statistical evaluation
- Simple transfer to a pc with Provista® software or direct transfer to portable printer (optional)
The Profometer 5+ Model Scanlog uses the "Scancar" carriage and works as a path measuring device. This gives the additional feature of plotting a visualisation of the bars on the screen and allows a presentation of the bars in grey scale
